Bank Stabilization: Site Assessment Report

Nebraska 

Issue: 

A railroad track was at jeopardy of a washout due to lateral migrations of an adjacent river. This project would involve numerous parties’ involvement, review, and approval. Ecodyne was tasked with providing a Site Assessment Report, which also included recommendations to resolve the underlining river channel migration while also considering each parties stake in the project.

Our Solution: 

We provided our client with a comprehensive Site Assessment Report with three remediations methods to fit into all parties involved, both financially and constructability. Due to our thorough understanding and years of experiences with erosion issues our team presented the options to the parties and a Palisade Structure design was deemed the best choice for every party. Er-Con moved on to successfully construct this project.

Site Survey and Design

Texas 

Issue: 

Due to major rain events a small tributary leading to the Lavaca River began to enlarge at a rapid rate. The expansion of this tributary lead to major erosion of the tributary threatening a natural gas pipeline ROW corridor. Ecodyne was contacted to inspect and evaluate the current erosion.

Solution: 

Through our initial inspection of the site, Ecodyne performed a detailed topographic survey of the existing conditions to further evaluate the problem. Our design team collaborated over many different possible solutions to solve the erosion issues. Ecodyne’s goal is always to have our client’s best interest in mind by providing the most cost-effective solution without jeopardizing the integrity of the engineering principles. The project called for the use of a combination of Gabion welded wire boxes, Reno welded wire mattresses, and rock rip rap to be installed as a solution to erosion control and pipeline protection.

Secondary Containment Structure

Iowa 

Issue: 

A tank farm site did not have a complete secondary containment structure design in place to contain any unforeseen spill. Ecodyne was tasked with an onsite assessment and solution to properly contain any potential contaminants, while allowing the client to dispose of any spilled contaminants through proper, regulated techniques.

Our Solution: 

A comprehensive onsite assessment was provided to the client. After surveying and downloading LIDAR data, a secondary containment structure was designed based off environmental factors to guide any leaked contaminants into one location to be contained and properly disposed. The design focused on providing an innovative solution at a fiscally responsible cost. Ecodyne was able to provide the design in a timely manner for the client to construct with help from a local contractor
